A hue is the name of a color. There aren’t many hues but there are many colors. To add a tint is to add white to a hue. Shade is adding black to a hue. Analogous color scheme is using colors that are close to each other. Complementary colors are opposite on the color wheel- when mixed they become dull. Two ways to decrease a colors saturation is to either add grey or to mix it with its complement.
